Theresa Marie Bianco of West Middlesex passed away in her sleep at home at 11:19 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012. She was 98.
Mrs. Bianco was born July 12, 1914, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of Carmen and Carmella Cappella Ferra.
She attended Punxsutawney School Systems.
Following school, Theresa lived and worked in Punxsutawney at a silk mill, a dress store and a five and dime until her marriage to Ralph Bianco on Sept. 25, 1937.
The couple moved to Sharon, Pa., in 1952.
After moving to the area she worked at Ben Franklin and later retired from Treasure Island.
She was fortunate to have the luxury of remaining at home in the exceptional loving care and attention of her son, Rich, in West Middlesex until her passing.
She was a gentle woman, loving wife, mother, grandmother, devoted Catholic and a true inspiration to many.
Theresa was always surrounded by adoration and somehow, without trying, always became the “queen” of any room. Her strong desire to never miss a thing and ability to make everyone laugh will be greatly missed.
Theresa leaves behind numerous loved ones, and especially her two children, Georgiene (Bianco) Baker-Stevens (Rick) of Akron, Ohio, and son Richard Bianco of West Middlesex; two brothers, Genie and Carmen Ferra; two sisters, Connie Esposito and Catherine Blose; two grandchildren, Theresa “Terri” (Baker) Kapper and Anthony Baker (Tracy); great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Mackenzie and AJ; two step-grandchildren, Shauna Rankin (Tim) and Misha Prunesti (Joseph); five step-great-grandchildren, Elena, Hannah, Rachel, Alisha, and Joseph; and a step-great-great-grandchild, Meghan.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bianco, who passed away on Sept. 3, 1984; two brothers, Johnny and Donald Ferra; a sister Marie Candiotti; and a step-grandchild, Marla Stevens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
In keeping with the wishes of the family, calling hours and a Mass of Christian Burial will be private.
