Terry "Rat" Smith, 65, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born April 30, 1948, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Blair and Louise (Henneman) Smith.

He was married to the former Marian Troutman.

He was a truck driver.

He was a member of the Perry Township Fire Department and the Lindsey Fire Company.

He was a member of the Valier United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mindy McAfee and husband Carey, Sherry Buffington and husband Ricky, and Teresa Keth and fiancé Jon Tubbs, all of Punxsutawney.

He is also survived by three brothers; five grandchildren, Derek Means and fiancée Kayla, Richard and Alex Buffington and Emily and Kyle Keth; one great-granddaughter, Harper Currens; and one great-grandchild pending.

He is also survived by two former sons-in-law, Matt Means and Tim Keth.

He is also survived and will be missed by many special friends and several "adopted" daughters and numerous "adopted" grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Tammy Smith.

Friends will be received at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from noon to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 7 p.m., with Pastor James L. Lantz officiating.

Interment will be at the Valier Cemetery.

The family requests that donations in memory of Terry be made to the family.
