Sykesville Ag & Youth Fair to begin Sunday

August 1, 2014

SYKESVILLE — If you're looking for a bit of fun as we begin the final month of summer as we know it, the Sykesville Ag & Youth Fair, which runs from Sunday through next Saturday, has more than enough action to keep you entertained and on your toes.

For those who are particularly interested in the track events, there's plenty to offer, with Monday featuring a Tractor Pulling Contest.

Tuesday will be the always-popular Enduro Race; Wednesday will see the Msgr. John Mignot Memorial Full Size Car Demolition Derby; and Thursday will be the 4x4 side-by-side truck drags.

Friday will be the Guy Uplinger Memorial Compact Car Demolition Derby, and the Mud Madness Mud Bog will wrap things up.

Sunday will see the animal entries being accepted and the Antique Tractor Pulling Contest will officially start the fair off at 1 p.m.

Attractions that will run all week long include Bartlebaugh Amusements on the Midway (beginning at 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday), Eudora Farms Animals From Around the World, Dennie Huber Balloon Artist, Sherri McCloskey Chain Saw Carving, The Rhinestone Roper and Laura Harriott's Animal Tales.

Horse shows, livestock shows and state entertainment from M and M Magic, The SharpTones, The Moore Brothers and the Dan & Galla Musical Show will be running throughout the week, as well.

For a full schedule of events, check out the wrap running in today's paper or jump on over to the fair’s website — http://www.sykesvillefair.org.
