Steve J. Hudzick Jr., 82, Punxsutawney, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at home with his family by his side.

He was born Aug. 29, 1928, in Rochester Mills, a son of the late Steve J. and Mary (Hudak) Hudzick Sr.

June 3, 1952, he married his beloved wife, Emma C. Hudzick, who preceded him in death Oct. 31, 2005.

Mr. Hudzick was a proud 40-year member of the Elk Run Volunteer Fire Company.

He enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s sporting events, his family and good friends. He was also an avid reader.

Surviving relatives include four daughters, Debra A. Wargo, Patricia M. Blose and husband John, Stephanie J. Sandy and husband Bill, and Marcia L. Blose and husband Michael, all of Punxsutawney; four grandchildren, Regan Lynn Long, Melissa Reneé Blose, Michael Christopher Blose and Matt Andrew Blose; two great-grandchildren, Kendyl Evelyn Long and Kaden Terrence Long; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Hudzick; a sister, Mary Heitzer; and his dog and faithful companion, Duke.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Bish officiating.

Interment will follow at Circle Hill Cemetery.
