Stephen Joseph Kirk Kruzelak, 68

Stephen Joseph Kirk Kruzelak, 68, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, with his family by his side in Falls Creek, Pennsylvania.

Steve was born July 15, 1945, in DuBois, to Stephen Kruzelak and Janet Kirk Kruzelak Phillips.

Steve served in the United State Air Force during the Vietnam War and worked many years as a heavy equipment mechanic in both Pennsylvania and Florida for C&K Coal Company, Femco Machine and M&S Heavy Equipment.

Steve is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara (Harriger); two daughters and their spouses, Dawn and Mike Hosier of New Ringgold, Pa., and April and Doug Shaffer of Duvall, Wash.; 4 grandchildren, Trevor and Tyler Hosier, and Ryan and Kailyn Shaffer; and two sisters, Janet Felix of Falls Creek and Fran Griffin of Orno, Maine.

Steve was preceded in death by his father and mother.

Steve and his wife spent the last 22 years living in south Florida, but relocated back to Pennsylvania in 2012.

He was a member of the Brookville Fireman’s Club and the American Legion.

Steve’s loves and interests included his dog, spending time with friends and family, riding motorcycles, racing Jeeps (in his earlier years) and warm weather!

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at McKinney’s Funeral Home in Brookville, with receiving beginning at 11 a.m.

All are welcome to join the family for a buffet luncheon at Plyler’s Buffet Family Restaurant immediately following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society and Hahne Cancer Center at the DuBois Regional Medical Center, DuBois, Pennsylvania.
