State, Borough Police respond to alleged aggravated assault

Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police with assistance from Punxsutawney Borough Police, investigated an alleged aggravated assault that occurred at approximately 9 a.m. Saturday at a camper located at 503 Elderberry Hill Rd., Bell Township. According to police, they are investigating a domestic dispute involving a firearm between Peter C. Parente, 50, and a 31-year-old female. Charges have been filed at district court against Parente for aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. The investigation is ongoing. State police were assisted at the scene by members of the Punxsutawney Fire Department for traffic control and Jefferson County EMS.
