Stanley “Stush” P. Dudek

Stanley “Stush” P. Dudek, 78, Arcadia, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at his home.

He was born Oct. 15, 1933, in Arcadia, a son of Michael P. and Julia (Stoyak) Dudek.

April 29, 1994, he married Elizabeth “Ann” (Patchin) Wetzel, who survives.

Mr. Dudek was a member of the Burnside United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a major. His service spanned tour of duties during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

Following his retirement from the military, he was employed as a bus driver for the Purchase Line School District.

Mr. Dudek was a member of the Glen Campbell American Legion Post; the Mahaffey VFW; and a lifetime member of the Montgomery Township Rod & Gun Club.

Some of his favorite interests were gardening, as well as feeding and watching the birds in his yard.

In addition to wife of almost 18 years, surviving relatives include two sons, Craig Dudek and companion Doreen Cross of Summerville, S.C., and Kevin Dudek and wife Anna of Bridgeport, W.Va.; two daughters, Ruth Ann Timblin and husband Ken of Rossiter, and Mary Smiley and fiancé Mike Barber of Brookville; seven grandchildren, Leila Matts and husband Joe of Home, Sherri Dudek of Bridgeport, Sean Pearce, Seth Timblin, Morgan Timblin, Nicole Pearce and Faith Pearce; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sandy Matts; three brothers, Henry Dudek and wife Ann of Pittsburgh, Joseph Dudek and wife Sandy of Arcadia, and Alex “Spook” Dudek and wife Virginia of Arcadia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and George Dudek.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd., Hillsdale.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at the Burnside United Methodist Church.

Military honors will be observed by the Glen Campbell American Legion.
