On Aug. 25, St. Joseph’s Polish Society held its second annual golf tournament at Hemlock View Golf Course. Eleven teams consisting of four players each for a total of 44 players participated. All participants were invited back to the Polish club for dinner after a great day of golfing. Prizes were awarded to all participants. Several local businesses from Punxsutawney and surrounding communities donated prizes or contributed to the overall total that was collected to donate to the American Lung Association, the organization chosen this year by the board of directors of the Polish Club. The total proceeds from the tournament equaled $1,525.42. The board of directors elected to match those proceeds to bring the grand total given to the American Lung Association to $3,050.84.
