Seiler L. Reitz, 85

Seiler L. Reitz, 85, Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born Dec. 13, 1924, in Knox Dale, a son of the late Carlton and Sarah Jane (Lewis) Reitz.

He was married to Marion V. (Spencer) Reitz of Punxsutawney, who survives.

Mr. Reitz attended the Albion United Methodist Church.

He worked for T.W. Phillips Gas Company for many years before retiring in 1987.

An avid sports enthusiast, he loved football, baseball and wrestling. He also enjoyed camping. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a son, Brian Reitz of Tionesta; two daughters, Pamela Garzoni and husband Gary and Brenda Rudolph, all of Punxsutawney; two brothers, Delbert Reitz and wife Shirley of Punxsutawney and Willard Reitz and wife Lois of McMurray; a sister, Jean Douthit of Punxsutawney; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Quay Reitz; and three sisters, Luetta Curtis, Joann “Peaches” White and Hazel Wesnitzer.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. (family only please) and from 7 to 9 p.m. (public) today at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the funeral home with Pastor Harold “Butch” Brunner officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park.
