Seiler L. Reitz, 85

Seiler L. Reitz, 85, Punxsutawney, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born Dec. 13, 1924, in Knox Dale, a son of the late Carlton Reitz and Sarah Jane (Lewis) Reitz.

He was married to Marion V. (Spencer) Reitz, who survives, of Punxsutawney.

Mr. Reitz attended the Albion United Methodist Church.

He worked for T.W. Phillips Gas Company for many years before retiring in 1987.

An avid sports enthusiast, he loved football, baseball and wrestling. He also enjoyed camping. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a son, Brian Reitz of Tionesta; two daughters, Pamela Garzoni and husband Gary, and Brenda Rudolph, all of Punxsutawney; two brothers, Delbert Reitz and wife Shirley, and Willard Reitz and wife Lois, all of Punxsutawney; a sister, Jean Douthit of Punxsutawney; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Quay Reitz; and three sisters, Luetta Curtis, Joann “Peaches” White and Hazel Westinger.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 (family only, please) and 7 to 9 p.m. (public) Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the funeral home with Pastor Harold “Butch” Brunner officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park.
