Sara Marie Griffith, 88

Sara Marie Griffith, 88, Marion Center, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home.

She was born March 11, 1924, in West Mahoning Township, Indiana County, a daughter of the late Amos E. and Della Mae Fleck Smith.

Mrs. Griffith was a graduate of Dayton High School.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Rochester Mills Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and sang in the church choir.
She enjoyed traveling, cooking and latch hooking.

Surviving relatives include five children, Jack D. Griffith and wife Paula of Marion Center, Nancy L. Wagner and husband Dennis of Pittsburgh, Doris J. Hicks and husband Paul and Donald W. Griffith and wife Judy, all of Marion Center, and Edward C. Griffith and wife Susanne of Rochester Mills; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dee D. Griffith; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Gladys Adamson and Olive Watt; and a brother, Staff Sgt. Russell Wayne Smith.

Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Robinson-Lytle, Inc. in Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Darla Revennaugh officiating.

Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery.
