Sara L. Wells, 89, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at McKinley Heath Center, Brookville.

She was born April 21, 1921, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Joseph and Alberta (Cochran) Hawley.

Oct. 28, 1938, she married Ambrose C. Wells, who preceded her in death Aug. 28, 1989.

Mrs. Wells was a member of the First Church of God and the Women of the Church of God.

She was a librarian at the church for a number of years.

Surviving relatives include three children, Darlene Miklos of Turtlecreek, Larry Wells and wife Sue of Corning, N.Y., and Robin Good of Smicksburg; seven grandchildren, Kathy Gallo, John Miklos, Mark Miklos, Amanda Long, Timothy Good, Aaron Wells and Tina Herr; and eight great-grandchildren, Reilly Wells, Caleb Wells, Merideth Miklos, Mason Miklos, Delany Miklos, Emily Herr, Cameron Long and Carson Long.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Wells; and two sisters, Patricia Kegges and Lillian Carney.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, and one hour prior to the time of service Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at the First Church of God.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at the First Church of God with Pastor Greg Tibbs officiating.

Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery.
