Samuel W. Servey, 82, of Punxsutawney, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at Mulberry Square.

He was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Clarion, a son of the late H.B. and Irene (Clark) Servey.

Mr. Servey was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.

Sam worked as a salesman for Stoehman Bread for more than 22 years.

He enjoyed playing cards, watching college football, eating candy and collecting railroad memorabilia.

He is survived by two children, Cristie Clark and boyfriend Brian Seitz of Clarion, and Dr. Steven Servey and wife Alisa of Schwenksville; two brothers, Carl Milton Servey of Erie, and Donald Paul Servey and wife Judy of Shippenville; three sisters, Martha Hazeldine Stevens of Venus, Virginia Righi of Milford, Ohio, and Edna McDonald of Cheyenne, Wyo.; his fiancée, Jeannie Hanson Pagano of Punxsutawney; and a sister-in-law, Roberta Servey of Philadelphia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harry W. and the Rev. James M. Servery; and two sisters, Edith Dills and Ardella Courson.

Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Maureen Seifried.

Military honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.

Interment will be at the American Legion plot at Circle Hill Cemetery.
