Ryan Joseph Stankewich, 26, of Punxsutawney, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013.

He was born Dec. 22, 1986, a son of Stacey Marie Schepis and Daryl Joseph Stankewich.

He was a 2005 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.

He graduated from Triangle Tech in 2008.

He was employed as a Union Carpenter with Local No. 947 of Ridgway.

Ryan enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles, animals, cleaning cars and playing a good game of bingo.

He was a compassionate, loving, caring soul, and he loved his family and friends deeply.

He was always there when you needed him, and he was quick to help others.

He will be dearly missed by so many people.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Joshua Thomas Stankewich, and one sister, Lauren Marie Stankewich, both of Punxsutawney; fiancée Tracey Collier of Punxsutawney; maternal grandmother Virginia Schepis of Punxsutawney; paternal grandparents Henry and Darlene Stankewich of Homer City; Uncle Ed Shiner and
wife Candace of Greensburg; Uncle Jeff Stankewich of Indiana; cousin Haley Stankewich of Indiana; and cousin Heather Tyger of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather whom he adored very much, Nicholas Schepis; and two uncles Hank Shiner and Mark Schepis.

There will be no viewing.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills, officiated by Lori Parks.

Memorial donations may be made in Ryan's memory to Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Rd., Falls Creek, PA 15840.
