Ruth Marie Digges, 81

Ruth Marie Digges, 82, Brookville, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, at McKinley Health Center, Brookville.

She was born Jan. 11, 1929, in DuBois, a daughter of Lester J. Haney and Mabel M. Heberling.

She married David (Dick) McManigle, who preceded her in death.

May 12, 1962, she married G. Edwin Digges, who also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Digges was a member of the Brookville Hospital Auxiliary and the Jefferson Manor Auxilary.

She was an avid golfer and bowler who enjoyed entertaining friends and family.

An avid Steelers fan, she was a former member of the Baltimore Colts Corral No. 4.

Mrs. Digges was employed at John Deere in Baltimore, Md.

Surviving relatives include a sister, Miriam Caylor of Punxsutawney; three sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Haney, Nancy Haney and Wilma Haney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Hodge; and four brothers, Miles Haney, James Haney, Raymond Haney and Lester Haney.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at the Chapel at Laurelbrooke Landing, Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at Laurelbrooke with Pastor Bay Baker officiating.

Interment will be at Butler Cemetery in Brookville.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
