Ruth M. (Bodenhorn) Hoch Trithart, 97, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Jefferson Manor Health Center, Brookville.

She was born Dec. 23, 1916, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Jacob and Ethel L. (McCormick) Bodenhorn.

She was first married to Preston S. Hoch on June 16, 1948. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1971.

She then married Arment N. Trithart on Aug. 7, 1975. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1992.

She was the last remaining of her family.

She attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church.

She was a 1934 graduate of Punxsutawney High School and a former employee of the Adrian Hospital.

Ruth enjoyed quilting, visiting with people and spending time with her family.

Surviving relatives include two step-daughters, Delores Shaffer of Aliquippa, Pa., and Mrs. Duane Kerr, Sr., of Big Run; eight step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her two husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Heitzenrater; a brother, Eugene “Beaner” Bodenhorn; three step-sons, Jay Hoch, Clarence Hoch and Wayne Hoch; and four step-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery.
