Ruth L. Parise, 91

Ruth L. Parise, 91, of Punxsutawney, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Parise was born Nov. 27, 1921, in Homer City, a daughter of the late Lester Love and Edna (Dickey) Love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Parise, Sr.

They were married July 12, 1947.

Mrs. Parise was a member of the First Church of God, where she was a Sunday School teacher, member of the Women of the Church of God, choir member and Missionary Officer for many years.

She enjoyed reading fiction and spending time with her family.

Ruth is survived by her son, James J. Parise, Jr. and wife Debbie of
Punxsutawney; two brothers, Bob Love of New Jersey and Don Love of Punxsutawney; a sister, Lois Reitz of McMurray; three grandchildren, J.dax Parise, Brooke Parise and Kellie Richardson and husband Chris; four great-grandchildren, Dominic and Alex Parise, Rocco and Anthony Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lester Love, Jr., Bill Love, Gene Love and James Love; and four sisters, Dorothy Watkins, Lena Love, Ilene Stonebreaker and Sally Hennamin.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the First Church of God with Pastor Greg Smith officiating.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
