Ruth I. Greenawalt, 90, Punxsutawney, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at AM/PM Personal Care Home.

She was born July 26, 1922, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late James and Sarah Jane “Jennie” (Sheesley) McClincy.

On Feb. 9, 1946, she married the late Clarence A. Greenawalt, who preceded her in death on July 26, 1985.

She worked in the office at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital for 24 years.

She was a member of the Punxsutawney Baptist Church and a member of the Historical Society for 18 years.

She enjoyed bingo, the outdoors, taking rides in the car and spending time with her granddaughters.

Surviving relatives include a son, Thomas Greenawalt and wife Janis of Marsteller, Pa.; a brother, Paul McClincy and wife Joyce of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; a sister, Naomi Brennan of Punxsutawney; and two granddaughters, Shannon Pretko and husband Josh and Kelly Greenawalt.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Greenawalt; and two brothers, Clyde and Everitt D. McClincy.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., today at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at the funeral home with the Reverend Mary Lewis officiating.

Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Mrs. Greenawalt’s memory, to the Punxsutawney Baptist Church.
