Ruth Helen Bloom, 93

Ruth Helen Bloom, 93, of Big Run, formerly of Troutville, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at DuBois Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Grampian (Chestnut Grove), the daughter of the late Milard and Sophia Sheesley Bloom.

She was a homemaker and founding member of the Bible Fellowship Church in Chestnut Grove.

She was very active with the development of the church from the beginning.

She also loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by a brother, Harry Bloom and wife Elma of Deer Park, Texas; a sister, Dora Hibbard of Monroeton, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Blair, Charles, Vern, Andy and Orvis; and a sister, Mae Stagner.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville.

Friends will also be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Bible Fellowship Church in Chestnut Grove.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, at the Bible Fellowship Church, with the Rev. Kevin Beard and the Rev. Charles Lee officiating.

Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery in Luthersburg.

The family suggests that memorials in memory of Ruth be made to the Bible Fellowship Church in Chestnut Grove.
