Ruth B. Reitz, 85, Knox Dale, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at home.

She was born May 23, 1925, in Big Run, a daughter of the late Clarence R. and Wilda G. Kerr.

Aug. 11, 1956, in Brookville, she married James “Jim” William Reitz, who survives.

Mrs. Reitz was employed at Standard Pennant Company in Big Run and The Cameron (Sylvania) in Reynoldsville.

She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church of Knox Dale, where she played piano, taught Sunday School and was the treasurer.

Mrs. Reitz enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include a son, James Reitz and wife Anna of Chester, Va.; two daughters, Patricia Fike and husband David of Brookville and Donna Bennett and husband David of Luthersburg; a sister, Edna Schuckers of Reynoldsville; a brother, Clarence R. (Bob) Kerr Jr. of Big Run; and six grandsons.

In addition her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Kerr; and a brother, Duane Kerr.

Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, Knox Dale, with the Rev. Glenn McQuown officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Knox Dale.
