Russell Clyde Henry Sr., 93

Russell Clyde Henry Sr., 93, Punxsutawney, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born March 9, 1919, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Russell and Amy (Wolfgang) Henry.

On Aug. 21, 1946, he married Elaine (Hall) Henry, who survives.

They were married for 66 years.

He was a member of the Punxsutawney Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.

He liked to ride his motorcycle and rode until the age of 85.

He also enjoyed hunting and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Henry was a lifetime resident of the Punxsutawney area.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

A former railroad employee, he then was self-employed at Henry Radio and Television Sales and Service.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a daughter, Elaine Williams and husband Danny of Cranberry, Pa.; a son, Russell Henry Jr. and wife Karen of Punxsutawney; three granddaughters, Christine Brisebois, Kirsten Williams and Lauren Horvath; two great-granddaughters, Giana Horvath and Adriana Horvath; four sisters, Louise Goda of Butler, Isabel Shedelbower of Levittown, Pa., Lavera Miller of Levittown, Pa., and Carolyn Todd of Salem, N.J.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ledsel Henry.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the funeral home with Pastor John Buchmann officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard immediately following the funeral service.

Interment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
