Rudy Kos, 81,

Rudy Kos, 81, Stump Creek, died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

He was born Dec. 17, 1929, in Central City, a son of the late Frank and Frances (Zakraisek) Kos.

July 12, 1969, he married Martha (McMains) Curley Kos, who survives, of DuBois.

Mr. Kos graduated from Sykesville High in 1948.

He worked for BFGoodrich and Rola-Jensen Corp in Punxsutawney
A veteran, he served as an Army corporal during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Kos was Catholic by faith.

 He enjoyed his family, gardening and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include four step-daughters, Dawna Roburn of New York, Judith Ferguson of New Mexico, Wendy Mainieri of Vermont and Robin Wright of California; three brothers, Albien Kos and wife Grace of Big Soldier, Joseph Kos and wife Betty of North Tonawanda and James Kos and wife Carol of DuBois; and a sister, Annabelle Simbeck and husband James of Stump Creek.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Michael Curley; and three brothers, Herman, Stanley and William Kos.
Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at the funeral home with Fr. Marc Allen officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by the Jefferson County Honor Guard.
Interment will be at LakeLawn Cemetery.

Donations in Mr. Kos' name may be made to Christ the King Manor.
