Ruby Elaine Bowser, 90

Ruby Elaine Bowser, 90, Treasure Lake, DuBois, formerly of Big Run, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 8, 1921, in Vandergrift, a daughter of the late Earl and Melda (Blystone) Stouffer.

Aug. 17, 1940, she married Arnold Bowser, who preceded her in death Dec. 29, 1982.

Mrs. Bowser attended the First Baptist Church in DuBois, and previously, the First Christian Church when she lived in Big Run.

She enjoyed her family very much and prayed for each of them equally every day. She was involved with her church and community activities at Treasure Lake. She liked spending time in Florida in the wintertime. Her hobbies were gardening and sewing.

Surviving relatives include three children, Thelma Kellar and husband Paul of Big Run, Tom Bowser and wife Sally, and Phillip Bowser and wife Marie, all of Punxsutawney; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bowser was the last member of her family. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Jim Stouffer; and four sisters, Virginia Stouffer, Helen Anthony, Marie Bowser and Jean Leard.

Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at the Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Big Run.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Montgomery officiating.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.

Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Bowser's memory to the First Christian Church in Big Run.
