Rose S. Zimmerman, 88

Rose S. Zimmerman, 88, DuBois, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the DuBois Nursing Home.

She was born March 8, 1923, in Pansy, a daughter of the late William Carlton and Ida (Young) Hetrick.

Mrs. Zimmerman grew up on a farm and graduated from a one-room school after eighth grade.

May 9, 1954, at the Lutheran Church at Ohl, she married W. Wilson Zimmerman, who preceded her in death Feb. 5, 2003.

Mrs. Zimmerman was a homemaker and worked at Sylvania. She also enjoyed sewing and made many beautiful quilts.

She made her home in Punxsutawney for many years. When her husband was admitted to the DuBois Nursing Home in 1998, she moved to DuBois and resided with her sisters until her admission to the DuBois Nursing Home in 2004.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Becky Leeman of Chesapeake, Va.; a son, Jerry R. "Bud" Zimmerman and wife Valerie of Brookville; two grandsons, Randy Leeman Jr. and wife Angelina Lee of Williamsburg, Va., and Garry Leeman and wife Stephanie Tuero-Leeman of Chesapeake, Va.; a granddaughter, Marcy Leeman of Richmond, Va.; two grandsons, Michael Shea Modiri of Richmond and Riley Wilson of Williamsburg, Va; a step-granddaughter, Trisha Vincent Fields and husband Mike of Brookville; a step-grandson, Jarvo Vincent Jr. of Texas; a step-great-granddaughter, Brittney Renee Fields of Brookville, two sisters, D. Helen DeMotte Ott Wilson and Alice Elizabeth Hetrick, both of DuBois; a brother, W. Ray Hetrick of Pansy; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, at the Richard L. Fait Funeral home with Diane Leeman officiating.

The family requests that donations be made to the DuBois Nursing Home, 212 South Eighth St., DuBois, Pa. 15801.
