Rose Marie Ferraraccio, 91

Rose Marie Ferraraccio, 91, formerly of Spring Avenue in DuBois, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Christ the King Manor.

She was born March 12, 1920, in DuBois, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Helen (Cook) Schalk.

June 14, 1946, she married John Rubino Ferraraccio, who preceded her in death March 17, 1998.

She was a homemaker and co-owner of Ferraraccio Bros. Service Station on Franklin Street in DuBois.

Mrs. Ferraraccio was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also an organist, choir director and sacristan at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. She was one of the founding members of the Kitchenaires and a past member of the Nautilus Club. She was also a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

Surviving relatives include a son, Blaise J. Ferraraccio and wife Linda of DuBois; a daughter, Helen Marie Ferraraccio of Carnegie; two grandchildren, Marissa D. Ferraraccio and John F. Ferraraccio; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph H. “Bud” Schalk; and a granddaughter, Lawren Ferraraccio.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois. The rosary will be prayed at 1:45 p.m. today, and a Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer and Fr. Thomas Hoderny co-celebrating.

Burial will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
