Rose M. Tote, 84

Rose M. Tote, 84, Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center, Punxsutawney.
Mrs. Tote was born Aug. 23, 1926, in Frostburg, a daughter of the late Sam and Ann (Yorio) Barber.

April 15, 1950, she married John J. Tote, who survives, of Punxsutawney. They were married 61 years.

She was a member of Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and the Ladies’ Rosary Altar Society.

Mrs. Tote sang in the choir for many years. 

She enjoyed square dancing and polka. She was a graduate of S.S.C.D High School and was employed by Spear Carbon, Comet and Riverside bakery.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include a son, Richard Tote and wife Mary of Strattonville; two daughters, Marianne Thomas and husband James of Reedsville and Diana Loveric and husband William of Remsen, N.Y.; a sister, Rachel Starry and husband Doyle of Punxsutawney; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janice Marie; and a brother, Pat Barber.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2011, at Ss. Cosmas & Damian Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
