Ronald Newcome, Jr., 70, Punxsutawney, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Dubois Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 11, 1941 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Ronald W. Newcome, Sr. and Mabel (Dinger) Newcome.

Sept. 8, 1962, he married Donna Belle Smith, who survives.

He was the Pastor of the Maple Grove Church of God.

He loved his family, his church family, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He spent a lot of his time at the church.

He was a loving caretaker to his wife and a loving father to his children.

He was an equipment operator for the P&N Coal Company.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Donna Belle; son Rodney Newcome and wife Kim of Punxsutawney; son Fred Newcome and wife Devonie of Weippe, Idaho; daughter Karen Perez and husband Steve of Punxsutawney; son Ralph Newcome and wife Tammy of Weippe, Idaho; and a son Steve Newcome and wife Donna of Punxsutawney; 11 Grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard Newcome.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Chestnut Grove Independent Church with Pastor Joe Spack officiating.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Newcome’s memory to the Maple Grove Church of God, 1558 Laurel Run Road, Penn Run, Pa. 15765.
