Ronald E. Gourley, 67, Hamilton, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at home.

He was born Jan. 10, 1944, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Donald G. and Henrietta (Kanouff) Gourley.

Nov. 29, 1974, he married Lela Adams Gourley, who survives.

A farm boy at heart, Mr. Gourley was an avid hunter and sportsman who enjoyed farm tractors.

He was a dozer operator for Original Fuels.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a daughter, Nicole Gourley of Dillsburg; six brothers, William Gourley of Youngsville and John Gourley, Larry Gourley, Thomas Gourley, Robert Gourley and David Gourley, all of Punxsutawney; and seven sisters, Donna Whitesell of Smicksburg, Martha Painter of Glen Campbell, Linda Passmore of Indiana and Judy Gourley, Debbie Gourley, Robin Gourley and Pamela Gourley, all of Punxsutawney.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, DeLores Adams.

Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

The family has suggested that memorials in Mr. Gourley's name be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
