Ronald D. Ishman, 79

Ronald D. Ishman, 79, of North Tonawanda, N.Y., died Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, in Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a brief illness.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of the Masonic Lodge 1157, Eggerstville, and the Moose Lodge, North Tonawanda.

Mr. Ishman had been an active member of the Gastown Sportsman Club; was the former owner and operator of the Abbot Fence Co.; and had worked as a salesman for the Imperial Fence Co.

He left a large, loving family, including his wife, Bonnie (Brubaker) (nee Jehrio) Ishman; two daughters, ZeeDale Baron and husband Victor of Wheatfield, N.Y., and Ronette Schepis and husband James of Punxsutawney; four grandchildren, Ashley, Brianna and Victor Baron and Haley Schepis; two step-sons, Howard and Jason Brubaker of Wheatfield; four siblings, Betty Dilts and husband Larry of Punxsutawney, Gary Ishman of Ohio, Jerry Ishman and wife Shirley of the Town of Niagara, N.Y., and Nelson Ishman and wife Laura of Punxsutawney; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Ishman; and five siblings, Jack Ishman, June Smith, Dolly Judice, Clifford Ishman and Barbara Bishop.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., North Tonawanda.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Acacia Park Cemetery.
