THE ROCKETS DID IT AGAIN

After a rough Saturday last weekend, the Rockets 15- and 16-year-old tournament team — consisting of girls from DuBois, St. Marys and Punxsutawney — battled back to win the Tornado Warning tournament in Pittsburgh. This past weekend, they did it again — this time at the Forest Hills Girls Fast Pitch Tournament in Beaverdale — after going 2-1-1 Saturdy to end up the No. 5 seed for bracket play Sunday. The Rockets fought back through to defeat the No. 4, No. 2 and No. 1 seeds to win the tournament championship. In the championship game, the Rockets battled back against the Stingers, from the Johnstown area, to win 5-3 in eight innings in an international tie-breaker. Monica Cameron pitched the championship game for the Rockets.
