Robert Williams Rowland, 87

Robert Williams Rowland, 87, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on Aug. 2, 2014.

Robert was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran who served in the South Pacific.

He was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology (associate’s degree) and earned a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Science in Distributive Education from Richmond Professional Institute.

Bob spent a career in education and retired as the executive director of the Huntingdon County Area Vocational Technical School.

He was an active member of the American Legion.

He had a life-long love of sailing, fishing and football.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Rowland.

He is survived by his sons, Douglas (Arlene), Mark (Joan Marie) and Robert Rowland; grandchildren Scott, Rachelann, Jacquelyn, Mark, Bobby and Nora Rowland; and great-grandchildren Matthew and
Michael Rowland.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, Pa.
