Robert A. Snyder, 73, Timblin, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born Sept. 19, 1938, a son of the late Elvin and Agnes (Engle) Snyder Sr.

Mr. Snyder worked at Rola-Jensen as a press operator.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1231 of Punxsutawney.

Mr. Snyder was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed the Pirates and hunting.

Surviving relatives include six brothers, Keith D. Snyder Sr. of Ringgold, Elvin Snyder Jr. and wife Dorothy of Timblin, Howard Snyder of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Kenneth Snyder and wife Pat of Sparta, N.J., Wayne Snyder and wife Carol of Punxsutawney, and Richard Snyder and wife Abby of Punxsutawney; three sisters, Faye Birchbickler and husband Harold of Butler, Shirley Harmon of Tionesta, and Margie Hall of Orlando, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Snyder; and two infant brothers.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Alt officiating.

Interment will be in Timblin Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Snyder’s memory to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.
