Robert L. "Gup" Grube, 54, Plumville, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born July 19, 1956, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Harry Fredrick Grube and Ruth O. (Campbell) Grube.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.

June 25, 1983, he married Ann (Swarm) Grube, who survives, of Plumville.
He was an employee of Edgar Thompson Steel Mill in Braddock, R&P Coal Company, Urling No. 1 Mine. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local No. 1219 and United Mine Workers of America Local No. 600. He loved hunting and fishing, but most of all, "Gup" loved spending time with his children and family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert C. Grube; and a daughter, Sarah Adams and husband Ryan, all of Lancaster; a brother; Jon F. Grube and wife Lu-ann of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Ruthann Gigliotti and husband James of Punxsutawney, and Karen "Cookie" Brestovich and husband Larry of Rossiter; a mother-in-law, Margaret Swarm of Punxsutawney; and a brother in law, Daniel Swarm and wife Cathy of Bellefonte; eight nephews; two nieces; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Rebecca Grube.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Maureen Seifried officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
