Robert A. Hoffman, 80

Robert A. Hoffman, 80, of Punxsutawney, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at home.

He was born Aug. 3, 1932, in Moulton, Texas, the son of the late Virgil and Mary (Filip) Hoffman.

He married Linda (Lellock) Hoffman on July 3, 1957.

She survives.

He worked as a driller for Petty Geophysical, the Dowell Company and Perry Drilling.

He also was employed as a Service Manager for Lellock Motors.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a son, Roger Hoffman and wife Mona; three daughters, Tina Hackenberry,
Mrs. Cheyenne (Nina) Reed and Mrs. Rick (Beth) Work; a brother, Vernon Hoffman and wife Marsha of Shiner, Texas; and a sister, Mrs. Ron Carolyn) Ferriera of Kentucky.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Rob, Justin and Amanda Hoffman;
Isabel Hackenberry; Cheyenne, Heath and Logan Reed; and Kyle, Cody and Derek Work; and by two great-grandchildren, Camille and Lorne Dinger.

Bob was very active in all church functions and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, with the Rev. James N. Pond officiating.

Interment will follow at Circle Hill Cemetery in Punxsutawney.

The family requests that donations in memory of Bob be made to the First United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney.
