Robert George “Hex” Hetrick, 56, of North Tonawanda, N.Y., died Friday, March 14, 2014.

He was born Oct. 11, 1957, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Donald Frank Hetrick and Jane Marie (Charcalla) Hetrick.

His mother survives and resides in North Tonawanda.

Mr. Hetrick worked as a heavy equipment operator for Tonawanda Coke, Kirchner, LLC. He enjoyed his work and spent a lot of his time at his job.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Paige (William) Evans of Springville, N.Y., and Dawn Hetrick of North Tonawanda; three aunts, Glenna McLaughlin of Portland, Ore., Dora Mae (Tom) Yasolsky of Aliquippa, Pa., and Sally Skarupa of Pittsburgh; his Godmother, Janice (Bruno) Barbessi of Canfield, Ohio; his Godfather, Robert (Marcella) Petroff of Punxsutawney; and numerous cousins.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Dawn Krishart.

Interment will follow at Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
