Robert Allen Meckley, 61, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at home.

He was born March 13, 1952, in Natrona Heights, Pa., the son of the late Blair William and Minerva Viola (Cessna) Meckley.

He was married to Rosemary (Boston) Meckley, who survives.

He was employed as a laborer at Thermal-Gard in Punxsutawney.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Marlene Vallies and husband William of Punxsutawney, Lisa Bottenhorn and husband Jeff of Sprankle Mills, and Penny Martz and husband Larry of Mayport; three sons, Joseph Meckley of Punxsutawney, Mark Meckley of Punxsutawney and Patrick Meckley and fiance Jennifer Slagle of Punxsutawney; one step-son, George Hess of Punxsutawney; one step-daughter, Joyce Meckley of North Carolina; three brothers, Richard Meckley of Cabot, Pa., George Meckley and wife Marion of Lorton, Va., and Gary Meckley of Desire; three sisters, Joan Franklin and husband Junior of Spartansburg, S.C., Marion Gotwald and husband Ron of Gettysburg, Pa., and Janet Phillips and husband David of Punxsutawney; and one sister-in-law, Betty Meckley of Piedmont, S.C.

He is also survived by six grandchildren, Star Russell, Carter Martz,
Jeffrey Bottenhorn, Jacob Vallies, Nickita Martz and Brent Vallies.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Meckley and Gene Meckley; two sisters, Ruth Lamer and Phyllis Goldinger; and one sister-in-law, Rebecca Meckley.

At the family's request, there will be no visitation.

Services are private at the convenience of the family.

The family requests that donations in memory of Mr. Meckley be made to the Elk Run Fire Company or to the Perry Township Fire Company.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
