Richy A. Hurd, 58

Richy A. Hurd, 58, Brookville, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born June 15, 1952, in Curwensville, a son of Walter Hurd and the late Ruth Johnston Hurd.

Aug. 19, 1978, he married Patricia L. McCallus Hurd, who survives, of Brookville.

Mr. Hurd was in the Punxsutawney High School graduating class of 1970.

Mr. Hurd was a field representative for the former Fairman Drilling for 28 years and retired from Devonian Resources Inc. He was a member of Big Run Camp and an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer.

In addition to his father and wife, surviving relatives include two daughters, Gretchen Hurd Moore and husband James of Morgantown, W.Va., and Heather N. Hurd of Denver, Colo.; a son, Garrett W. Hurd of Geneva, Ohio; two brothers, Randy Hurd of Marion Center, and Rick Hurd and wife Jill of Gathersburg, Md.; a sister, Wendy Depp and husband Doug of Punxsutawney; two step-brothers, John Reig and wife Cora of Skykesville, and Dave Reig and wife Lisa of Brookville; one step-sister, Stephanie Georgek of DuBois.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wally Hurd.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home, Reynoldsville.
