Richard Brink, 79

Richard Brink, 79, Rossiter, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Bethanny Place, Indiana.

He was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Glen Campbell, a son of the late John and Vernie (Janocha) Brink.

He was married to Betty M. (Serian) Brink, who preceded him in death Aug. 7, 2006.

Mr. Brink was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War.

He was Catholic by faith and a graduate of Rossiter High School. He was employed by the Rossiter Water Treatment Plant and was a member of the Local ICMSA of Indiana.

In his spare time, he played trumpet with local bands.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Gregory Brink and wife Billie Sue of Punxsutawney, and Keith Brink of and wife Kathy of Marion Center; a brother, Robert Brink and wife Barb of Rossiter; five grandchildren, Shawn Brink, Noelle Weaver and husband Steve, Amanda Vasbinder and husband Keith, Serena Johnston and husband Jeffrey, and Megan Brink; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Brink; and a sister, Eleanor Brink.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

The service and interment are private for family.
