Richard Babco, 67

Richard Babco, 67, of Logan, Indiana County, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011, at Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown.

He was born Oct. 14, 1943, in Logan, Banks Township, a son of the late John W. and Elizabeth (Kraynak) Babco.

Aug. 28, 1965, he married Laura Belle Huey, who preceded him in death April 9, 1999.

Mr. Babco was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Glen Campbell.

He worked in the coal strip mining industry doing augering with Andy Freno and then working with the Kraynak Coal Company prior to his employment with Hoffman Diamond Products of Punxsutawney.

Mr. Babco enjoyed hunting and gardening, as well as visiting flea markets and yard sales.

Surviving relatives include a son, Randy Babco of Logan; two brothers, William Babco and wife Lois of Gipsy, and John Babco of Logan; his special friend, Joline Fleming of Rossiter; and a brother-in-law, John Kemmerer of Rossiter.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Kemmerer.

Friends will be received from to 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd., Hillsdale.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, with Pastor Fred Williams officiating.

Interment will follow at the Pearce Cemetery, Rossiter.
