Ramona J. "Sis" Strange, 85, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at home.

She was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Raymond Melborn and Florence Ella (Wells) Shick.

In 1964, she married the love of her life, Jack D. Strange, "JD Strange" as he was known by many.

They loved to dance with one another, enjoyed training horses and raising Banty chickens for show and won every ribbon possible.

He preceded her in death on April 7, 1999.

She had a love of animals and enjoyed caring for stray cats and feeding the birds.

She is survived by two sons, Randy Mennetti of Punxsutawney, and Larry Mennetti and wife Marilyn of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three stepsons, Jack Strange and wife Sharon of West Newton, Perry Strange of Elizabeth Township, and Jay Strange of Louisiana; two step-daughters, Mona Miller and Bonnie Ray Filer, both of Elizabeth Township; and one grandson, Jason Mennetti.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and one brother, Preston Shick.
There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
