Quinton F. Reams, 93

Quinton F. Reams, 93, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Reams was born June 12, 1920, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Walter and Lena Agnes (Kuntz) Reams.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ryta S. (Stuchell) Reams.

Quinton was a proud veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, 1st. Infantry.

He was a member of the VFW Post No. 2076, American Legion Post No. 62 and the Elks No. 301.

He was a member of the Saint Peters United Church of Christ, a past member of the Hot Footers and an instructor for the NRA, teaching hunting safety courses.

Mr. Reams worked as an engineer for the B & O Railroad and Chessie System Railroad before retirement.

He is survived by three sons, Quinton R. Reams and wife Helen of Homer City, David L. Reams and wife Sheila of Albion and Timothy E. Reams and wife Gale of Trade City; a daughter, Phyllis Brentzel and husband Joseph of North Huntingdon; a brother, Ronald D. Reams and wife Emogene of Punxsutawney, 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his, wife Ryta; he was preceded in death by a brother, Max Reams; and sisters Evelyn Pooler, Patricia Skunda, Phyllis Ivoska, Donnabelle Steffey and Marjorie Capella.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at McCabe
Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Jennifer Fair officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Peters United Church of Christ.

Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Cloe, where veteran's
services will be accorded by the U.S. Army and the Jefferson County Veterans’ Memorial Honor Guard.
