PITTSBURGH — On a recent Saturday October night, Punxsy native Mark Aaron scored a unanimous decision win over Damon Palmer of Eastside PAL, in the 178-pound novice division at the Edgewood Club in Pittsburgh.

Aaron was able to use his superior reach and height along with having a strong jab to set up good combinations and outscore his opponent.

He trains a Helman's PAL in Punxy and is scheduled for action again in mid-November in Tarentum.

Also preparing for first bouts are local heavyweight Marcus Williams and lightweights Colton Sheilds and Parker Vernot.

An amateur card is in the early planning stages to be held in the near future at the Punxsutawney Area Community Center, with proceeds to benefit the center.
