At Wednesday night's school board meeting, Superintendent Dr. Keith Wolfe said that two elementary schools in the Punxsy District have received the Governor's Award for Excellence in Academics — Bell Township and Longview.

Both schools scored over 90 percent for the 2012-2013 school profile.

Each building received a proclamation from the governor.
