PSP-Punxsy: One flown from scene of Mahaffey area accident

BELL TOWNSHIP — Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police responded to a commercial vehicle accident that occurred at 6:38 a.m. Feb. 12 on Burnside McGee Highway in Bell Township, Clearfield County.
A 1997 International Harvester 9400, operated by Nathan E. McClelland, 28, Madera, was traveling south, while a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan, operated by Billee Adams, 58, Hillsdale, was traveling north.
As McClelland entered a right-hand curve, his truck began to slide on the icy roadway. The vehicle traveled off the west berm and struck the guiderail, then began rotating clockwise back onto the roadway, where its left rear section struck the front of Adams' vehicle. Adams was flown from the scene via medical helicopter for treatment of suspected serious injuries. McClelland was uninjured. No citations were filed.
Mahaffey Fire Department, Mahaffey Ambulance and Jefferson County EMS assisted at the scene. Scott's Auto, Towing & Repair of Cherry Tree removed Adams' vehicle from the scene.
