PSP investigating weekend burglary at Gruda Metals

HENDERSON TOWNSHIP — Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania Police are asking for assistance from anyone with information on a burglary that took place at Gruda Metals in Henderson Township over the weekend.

Police said that on Sunday, between the hours of 1 and 2:30 a.m., unknown
actor(s) gained entry into the facility by breaking a side window into the scale house.

The actors then allegedly entered and removed numerous amounts of brass and copper, a welder, a socket set, a grease gun, a plasma cutter, a stereo system and a laptop.

The report said the actors also took a camouflage 2010 Tomoto Supermach 500 sport utility vehicle, which was recovered on Rock Dump Road.

The estimated cost of the stolen property is more than $9,000, and the estimated cost of damage done to the property is yet to be determined.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact PSP-Punxsy at 938-0510.
