PUNXSUTAWNEY — East Mahoning and North Findley Streets were shut down for about 45 minutes Monday following a three-vehicle accident that occurred around 7:17 p.m. Monday.

According to Punxsutawney Borough Police, a 1994 Subaru sedan driven by Tina McCracken, Punxsutawney, was traveling west on East Mahoning Street, while a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Sean Fitzgerald, Big Run, was traveling north on North Findley Street, and a 2006 Chevrolet driven by a 16-year-old juvenile was traveling south on North Findley Street, waiting to make a left turn to travel east on East Mahoning Street.

Police said McCracken failed to stop for a steady red traffic signal and struck the passenger door of Fitzgerald’s vehicle, which caused it to overturn, rotating clockwise and striking the juvenile’s vehicle.

Fitzgerald’s vehicle came to rest on its roof facing south in the northbound lane of North Findley Street.

According to police, both McCracken and Fitzgerald were transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.

Their vehicles were towed from the scene by Walker’s Towing and Rebuck’s South Side Service.

Police were assisted at the scene by members of the Punxsutawney Fire Department.
