PUNXSUTAWNEY — Punxsutawney Borough Police continue to search for the suspect in an assault that occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m Thursday along North Jefferson Street in Punxsutawney.

Police are searching for a white male, between the age of 20 and 30, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, who was wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans and possibly operating, or a passenger inside of, a gray vehicle with an unknown registration, said Punxsutawney Borough Police Chief Tom Fedigan.

He said the unidentified male is wanted in connection with an assault, where he allegedly struck a 53-year-old male with a knife or similar sharp object in the back.
