PUNXSUTAWNEY — Only minor injuries resulted from a two-vehicle accident — and police report that alcohol may have been involved — at 4:41 a.m.
Friday on North Findley Street just below the National Guard Armory.

According to Punxsutawney Borough Police, a Ford Explorer driven by Katherine Adams, 21, Punxsutawney, was traveling north on North Findley Street and crossed over into the other lane, striking the left front corner of a Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Caleb McCauley, 25, Punxsutaw- ney, who was traveling south on North Findley Street.

Police said McCauley attempted to swerve out of the way of Adams' vehicle and struck the hillside along North Findley, causing his vehicle to roll onto its side.

According to police, Adams was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital by Jefferson County EMS for treatment of minor injuries and suspicion of DUI, and McCauley was treated for a head contusion.

Punxsutawney Borough Police were assisted at the scene by Punxsutawney- based Pennsylvania State Police in administering a breathalyzer test to Adams.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Rebuck's South Side Service, police said, adding that they were also assisted with extricating Adams from her vehicle by the Elk Run Volunteer Fire Company and the Central Fire Department.

North Findley Street was closed for about an hour following the accident.
