August 28, 2011

A 63-year-old man is presumed dead following a boating accident at Hemlock Lake Saturday afternoon, according to Punxsutawney-based State Police.

Police said the man, whose identity has not been released, was fishing in a boat with his son in Banks Township, Indiana County, around 3:30 p.m. yesterday when the boat capsized.

The victim's son was able to swim to shore, police said, and the victim was last seen by witnesses in the water near the boat.

Police suspended their search at nightfall Saturday but resumed it this morning.

The investigation is continuing.
