Downtown Punxsutawney was a beehive of activity Monday night, as construction workers from sub-contractor Donegal Construction were busy milling the asphalt off Mahoning Street in preparation for paving. It is a part of PennDOT’s $1,112,458 project and is scheduled for completion in the next few weeks. The project includes replacing and upgrading signals at four intersections; interconnecting the signals; addressing ADA requirements; re-timing and re-phasing the signals for efficiency; and paving Mahoning Street. Work is scheduled to continue between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. this week, so travelers should plan to adjust their routes accordingly.
